Surefoot International School, Calabar, ranked among the TOP 25 Best Secondary Schools in Nigeria
The academic year 2022/2023 School year commenced on a high note with Surefoot International School, Calabar, ranked among the TOP 25 Best Secondary Schools in Nigeria. This feat was confirmed when the news of the results of the 2022 Cambridge IGCSE and WAEC came ringing. Get a glimpse of the Students’ passing rate at

- Cambridge IGCSE A* – B 9%
Achievement of this feat had not been accidental. It has been a deliberate and persistent effort of the staff and students who believe in the fact that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me – Philippians 4:13”. Therefore the School Management, Staff and Students borrowed a lift from these outstanding feat and resolved to improve on the quality of delivery of our services at Surefoot in this new session, because it might be easy to reach the top, but the challenge is staying at the top. And so right from the start, a war was launched against anything that would dilute our standards.
For instance, prior to the commencement of this academic year on Monday 5, September, 2022, the School was fumigated, painting and renovation of various installations done, holding of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) seminars for staff, purchase and distribution of didactic materials etc. etc.
In true character of our open door policy, we have had to organize an open house day, in order to let all stake holders of Surefoot, would be parents and sympathisers, have a foretaste of what goes on as regards to the Teaching and Learning process here.
Moving forward, it is worthy of note that Teachers and Students have together (in all subjects of key stages 3 and 4), worked out this year’s estimated grade. In doing this we considered the past results of each student, their learning styles and have had to fine tune strategies to achieve these targeted grades. These grades are communicated to the Parents during Parents Teachers Conference (PTC), so that the parents too can make their own input and follow up.
Since ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’, all these are spiced up with extracurricular activities on Tuesdays and Fridays. All this in a bid to raise up wholesome beings acquiring knowledge of the Head and of the Heart, in line with the Four (4) core values of the School: Academics, Attitude, Attendance and Activity.
And so you ask me ‘what good can come from Surefoot’?
My answer is ‘Come and see’!
